Abstract
The article discusses recent research focusing on the reign of Nicholas I in the Russian Empire, contrasting it with the earlier attention given to his brother Alexander I. Scholars have increasingly studied Nicholas I's policies, views, and governance, particularly in the context of the Uvarov triad of "Orthodoxy, autocracy, and nationality." The article also highlights the rise of ideological constructs during Nicholas I's reign, such as the system of governance and policies in the Polish lands of the Russian Empire. Additionally, the article explores the diplomatic history of Alexander I's era, emphasizing his role as a peacemaker and his adherence to Enlightenment principles in European diplomacy.
