Abstract
The article focuses on the United States' efforts to pressure allies in Iraq and Lebanon to disarm Iran-linked proxy militias amid the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict. Iran continues to rely on militias in Iraq and Hezbollah in Lebanon to resist disarmament, complicating US attempts to reduce Tehran's regional influence. Iraqi Shiite political groups are developing a plan to disarm some Iran-backed militias, including Asaib Ahal Al-Haq and Kataib Al-Imam Ali, while negotiations continue with others. The proxies have launched numerous attacks on US interests, and Tehran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force directs these groups to prepare for prolonged conflict. Meanwhile, diplomatic talks between Israel and Lebanon have resumed despite ongoing tensions and opposition from Hezbollah. [Extracted from the article]
