Abstract

The article discusses the transition of the Boer Wars into a guerrilla war phase, where the Boers utilized hit-and-run tactics against the British forces. The British responded with brutal methods, including a scorched earth policy and the establishment of concentration camps, resulting in high casualties among Boer civilians. Despite the controversial tactics used, the war eventually ended in May 1902 with the Treaty of Vereeniging, marking a costly and brutal conflict with significant loss of life on all sides.
