Abstract
The 12th World Congress of Accounting Historians took place in Istanbul, Turkey in July 2008. The congress had 573 participants and featured 239 paper presentations on various accounting history topics. The event began with a welcome cocktail reception and included exhibitions and stands showcasing accounting record samples, stock certificates, and other historical materials. The congress included plenary sessions with speeches from various speakers, as well as parallel sessions and a Gala Dinner. The event concluded with closing ceremonies and a Bosphorus Dinner Cruise. The congress aimed to advance international activities related to accounting history and was seen as important for both Turkish academicians and world accounting historians.
