Abstract
The article examines the U.S. Supreme Court's decision on reverse discrimination under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits employment discrimination based on race, or sex. It highlights the case of Marlean Ames, who alleged discrimination as a straight woman at the Ohio Department of Youth Services, and the Court's unanimous ruling allowing her lawsuit to proceed, thereby eliminating the previously required "background circumstances" standard in appellate courts.
