Abstract

The article focuses on the intellectual history of the Philippine Studies Series at the University of British Columbia, showing how a student- and scholar-led network developed a critical diasporic consciousness through academic, and activist work. Topics include the politics of migration and settler colonialism, collaborative cultural and protest projects such as Mahal, Kapwa, and Padasal, and the ethical responsibilities of Filipinx diasporic scholarship in relation to decolonization.
