Abstract
This text focuses on the book *Intimations of Joseph Conrad: A Century of Sightings and Citings of Conrad's Presences in Print, Crafts, Media and Monuments* by G. W. Stephen Brodsky, which examines the enduring influence of Joseph Conrad (1857–1924), a master mariner and Modernist author. The book documents a wide range of Conrad's presences over the past century, including literary references by contemporaries and later authors such as H. G. Wells, F. Scott Fitzgerald, George Orwell, and John Le Carré, as well as physical memorials like monuments, sculptures, and plaques. It highlights Conrad's role as a hybrid Polish-British literary figure and explores his impact on the expansion of the international literary canon from Modernism to Postmodernism. The work offers a unique interdisciplinary perspective by combining literary analysis with cultural and material commemorations of Conrad's legacy.
