Abstract

REGULARSIn 1922, British archaeologist Howard Carter, along with his benefactor Lord Carnarvon, stepped inside the tomb of Tutankhamun for the first time. The two outermost coffins were made from wood that had been painted gold and set with brilliant semiprecious stones, such as lapis lazuli and turquoise. The inner coffin was forged from solid gold and weighed around 110.4 kilograms. [Extracted from the article]
