Abstract

Recent coverage of the war in Ukraine has focused on Kyiv's lack of significant progress in its land offensive. However, this singular focus has distracted from Ukraine's successes in other theaters of the conflict, particularly in Russian-occupied Crimea and the Black Sea. Ukraine has achieved victories in missile strikes against Russian naval assets in Sevastopol, as well as daring attacks on the Black Sea Fleet. These successes have severely restricted Russia's range of mobility in the Black Sea and have opened up Ukrainian ports for international shipping. Despite Ukraine's limited naval capabilities, it has achieved remarkable progress against the Russian fleet. [Extracted from the article]
