Abstract
The article focuses on Bryanna Jenkins, a transgender activist and lawyer, who has significantly contributed to the advocacy for Black transgender rights and visibility in Baltimore and beyond. Following the deaths of Mya Hall and Freddie Gray, Jenkins founded the Baltimore Transgender Alliance to raise awareness of issues faced by the transgender community, particularly Black individuals. After transitioning from community organizing to law, she has held various roles, including national organizing director for the Lavender Rights Project, where she advocates for legislation to protect transgender students and builds networks among Black transgender leaders. Jenkins emphasizes the importance of diverse perspectives in both the legal profession and the broader community. [Extracted from the article]
