Abstract

The article focuses on recent U.S. military contracts for advanced aviation technologies. The U.S. Navy awarded Lockheed Martin a $174.6 million contract to produce the third-generation electrooptical helmet-mounted displays for F-35 Lightning II pilots, integrating head-up display, night vision, and targeting capabilities without a traditional HUD. The U.S. Army contracted Sikorsky Aircraft, a Lockheed Martin company, for $443 million to build additional UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters featuring upgraded engines, avionics, and sensors, including the Degraded Visual Environment Pilotage System (DVEPS) for improved flight safety. Additionally, the U.S. Marine Corps ordered 28 unmanned quadcopter aircraft from The Survice Engineering Co. LLC for battlefield resupply missions under an $11 million contract.
