Abstract
B Brian Blanchfield b is the author of three books of prose and poetry, most recently I Proxies: Essays Near Knowing i (Nightboat Books, Picador UK, 2016). He is co-translator with Delphine Grass of Michel Houellebecq, I The Art of Struggle i (Alma Books, 1996), with Luce Irigaray of her I Everyday Prayers i (Maisonneuve & Larose, 2004), and he is translator of Guillaume Apollinaire, I Seated Woman i (Shearsman Books, 2023). The recipient of the Academy of American Poets' James Laughlin Award and a Whiting Award in Nonfiction, he has recent work in I The Best American Essays 2022 i , I The Oxford American i , I Tin House i , I Document i , I A Public Space i , and I Textual Practice i .
