Abstract
The article explores the involvement of the Dukes of Burgundy in the 15th-century crusade and the Georgian kings' stance on the matter. It delves into the political and socio-economic factors influencing the Georgian rulers' participation in international issues. The text highlights the complex interactions between European leaders, such as King Sigismund of Hungary and Philip II the Bold, Duke of Burgundy, in supporting the crusade against the Ottomans. The article also discusses the diplomatic efforts of Gilbert de Lannoy and Bertrandon de la Broquière in exploring potential military allies and routes for a crusade against the Ottomans. The text emphasizes the historical context of the 15th century, focusing on the geopolitical dynamics in Europe and the Caucasus region. [Extracted from the article]
