Abstract
Andra Day, a Grammy-nominated singer, recently had the opportunity to perform the Black national anthem at Super Bowl LVIII, a moment she had been waiting for. She burst onto the scene in 2015 with her song "Rise Up," which became an anthem for Black Lives Matter protests. Day also played Billie Holiday in the film "The United States vs. Billie Holiday," for which she received a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination. She is currently working on her second album, "Cassandra," which she plans to release this spring. Day hopes to inspire differently on this album by sharing her own experiences.
