Abstract

The article focuses on a contemplative journey into Eastern Orthodox monasticism through a visit to Simonopetra Monastery on Mount Athos, Greece. Topics include the deep historical and spiritual roots of the Holy Mountain, the richly symbolic experience of pilgrimage and ritual, and the enduring architectural, liturgical, and cultural traditions upheld by its monastic community.
