Abstract
"Hannah More in Context" is a comprehensive collection of essays edited by Kerri Andrews and Sue Edney that provides a reassessment of the life and work of Hannah More, an English religious writer and philanthropist, in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. The book explores previously neglected aspects of More's life and offers original analyses of her published and archival materials. The essays cover topics such as More's personal letters, her political views, her fiction and plays, and her commitment to social issues. While the book overlooks More's "Sacred Dramas," it presents a more complete and nuanced picture of More and offers alternative perspectives on her work. [Extracted from the article]
