Abstract
The article discusses the relationship between science and the public during the COVID-19 pandemic. It argues that the public's trust in science has eroded, leading to confusion and ineffective messaging regarding health guidance. The article suggests that science should be seen as a human endeavor with its own flaws and biases, rather than an infallible authority. It also highlights the need for ambitious goals and decisive action, drawing parallels to the Manhattan Project as an example of successful scientific collaboration. The article concludes that society must reclaim science as a shared responsibility in order to rebuild trust and effectively address future crises. [Extracted from the article]
