Abstract

The article focuses on Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost lander, which became the first private spacecraft to successfully land on the moon in March. In collaboration with NASA, Blue Ghost carried 10 scientific instruments, including a laser reflector designed to measure the moon's shape and its precise distance from Earth. Firefly Aerospace plans additional lunar missions, including a lander to the moon's far side next year and further launches in 2028 and 2029, aiming to support human return and sustained presence on the lunar surface.
