Abstract
The author tells about her creative research project and poetics focused on the naming and liberation of Black women's bodies in the King James Version of the Bible and in contemporary eras. She discusses poems about black bodies in the biblical space, atrocities against women and the vulnerable, and the contemporary condition of Black life lived in transatlantic slavery. She also cites her observation of the violence inflicted on women in the Caribbean.
