Abstract
The article in the Clinical & Experimental Dermatology journal discusses a case of pili annulati (PA) in a 32-year-old woman and her family members. PA is a rare autosomal dominant disorder characterized by abnormalities in the hair shaft. The study used trichoscopic photography and scanning electron microscopy to identify the distinctive bead-like structure of the hair shafts in patients with PA. The exact pathogenesis of PA remains elusive, with theories suggesting a protein metabolism disorder stemming from ribosome dysfunction. [Extracted from the article]
