Abstract
This article focuses on Alfred Russel Wallace, the Welsh naturalist who co-discovered the theory of evolution alongside Charles Darwin. Wallace conducted extensive biological and anthropological research during expeditions in the Amazon and the Malay Archipelago, where he made key observations such as the Wallace Line, a boundary separating distinct Asian and Australian species. His findings on species adaptation and natural selection paralleled Darwin’s work, though Darwin received most of the credit. Wallace was also a social activist, author of 20 scientific books, and contributed to discussions on topics like extraterrestrial life.
