Abstract
Marc Morial, President and CEO of the National Urban League, testified before the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs on racism and discrimination in banking. He highlighted historical discriminatory practices in banking, such as redlining and biased lending, that have disproportionately affected communities of color. Morial advocated for greater fairness in financial services, emphasizing the importance of investing in Black-owned banks and passing legislation to address discriminatory practices and increase equitable access to banking.
