Abstract
Singapore's long-standing Lee family rule is coming to an end as Lee Hsien Loong steps down after 20 years as prime minister. Lawrence Wong, a fellow Harvard University graduate and finance minister, will take his place. Wong is expected to offer continuity and political stability, but the ruling People's Action Party faces challenges such as the high cost of living and growing geopolitical tensions. The handover comes amidst scandals that have affected the ruling party's reputation. Lee Hsien Loong will remain involved in politics as a senior minister. [Extracted from the article]
