Advocacy Corner: Meet our Carl Orff Canada Advocacy Committee!

Abstract

The article introduces the Carl Orff Canada (COC) Advocacy Committee, a group of experienced music educators dedicated to promoting music education for children across Canada through the Orff Schulwerk approach. Members include teachers and leaders such as Bethany Ellen Elsworth, Lori Arthur, Pam Hetrick (COC President), Linda Song, Becki Leipert, and Jennifer Stacey (COC Web Administrator), each with extensive backgrounds in music pedagogy, teacher training, and community involvement. The committee focuses on advocacy initiatives emphasizing equity, diversity, inclusion, joyful pedagogy, and collective creativity within music education. Their work includes organizing workshops, developing resources, and supporting professional development to enhance music learning experiences for diverse learners nationwide.
