Abstract
The article focuses on France's recognition of Morocco's sovereignty over the disputed Western Sahara region through President Emmanuel Macron's endorsement of Morocco's autonomy plan as the sole solution to the conflict. This stance prompted Algeria to withdraw its ambassador to Paris, condemning France's support for what it termed the "colonial condition" imposed on Western Sahara, a territory also claimed by the pro-independence Polisario Front. Additionally, the article briefly reports on other diplomatic developments, including bans on UN Development Programme security assessments in Niger and Burkina Faso, disputes involving France in Chad, Eritrea's detention of Yemeni fishermen, and the resumption of diplomatic ties between Iran and both Gambia and Sudan.
