Abstract
Transat AT Inc. is set to begin canceling flights on Monday and Tuesday in response to a three-day strike notice issued by the union representing its 700 pilots. The Montreal-based vacation operator anticipates that a pilot strike could officially commence on Wednesday, prompting the gradual suspension of operations to avoid stranding passengers, crews, and aircraft abroad. To assist affected travelers, Transat has established an information page on its website and is allowing customers with upcoming flights to change or postpone their travel without charge. Both Transat and the Air Line Pilots Association are continuing negotiations, with hopes of reaching an agreement before the December 10 deadline. [Extracted from the article]
