Abstract

The article focuses on recent developments in the data center industry, highlighting key projects and corporate activities. Crusoe Energy initially deployed containerized data centers at U.S. oil wells to utilize flared natural gas for Bitcoin mining and has since expanded to other stranded energy sources and high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI) services. Novva Data Centers, a U.S.-based company, has filed plans for a large six-building data center campus called Project Borealis in Mesa, Arizona, and is actively expanding its presence across the western U.S. Arcus Infrastructure Partners acquired German data center operator Internet Port Hamburg (IPHH) and launched Portus Data Centers, a new European platform aimed at regional and edge data center growth in Germany and neighboring countries.
