Abstract

A literary criticism of the book "Seven Types of Ambiguity" by William Empson is presented and the author's personal experience of rereading it. It discusses the association of Empson's work with the New Criticism movement and the author's high regard for the book as "the best book ever written about poetry." The author reflects on the experience of rereading the book and highlights the challenge of keeping the different types of ambiguity discussed in the book straight in one's mind.
