Abstract

It connects the vicissitudes of Hong Kong with those of the city's flag carrier, Cathay Pacific, which rose from a regional air service to one of the world's top airlines. While Wong addresses the social, political, and economic strains in the wake of the handover, he shows his belief in the continuing resilience of the city of Hong Kong, to which the fortunes of Cathay Pacific are so closely connected.
