Abstract
The article scrutinizes Isaac Newton's credentials as a radical whig in Great Britain. Topics include failure to recognize these credentials at least since 1848 when he was hailed as the glory of the British Whig party, Newton's defense of liberty and Protestantism against the dispensing power of King James II of England that earned him a place in a Cambridge delegation summoned to appear before Lord Chancellor George Jeffrey and his election as a Member of Parliament for Cambridge in 1688.
