Abstract
The large number of abstentions among developing countries from the global South in voting sessions at the United Nations condemning Russia's invasion of Ukraine has led many analysts to announce the resurgence of non-alignment and bloc politics in international relations. Finally, the book situates the contemporary foreign policy preferences of global South countries, not as a NAM resurgence, but as independent foreign policies stemming from the legacy of the old non-aligned movement. First, the author reminds readers about the historical meaning of non-alignment, and how non-alignment, both as a postcolonial concept and a foreign policy strategy, should not be confused with dogmatic neutrality.
