Abstract
This article discusses the widespread sending of food and other aid to Jews targeted by the Nazis during World War II. The book explores the dynamics of knowledge and communication surrounding the Holocaust, as well as the visibility of Jewish suffering in the context of wider food shortages. It examines how access to food became weaponized by both the Nazis and Allied governments, resulting in the deepening of racial hierarchies and social inequality in camps and ghettos. The volume also highlights the impact of relief parcels on emotional connections and physical survival, and the role of different governments and organizations in providing aid. Overall, the book emphasizes the humanitarian value of relief to those in need. [Extracted from the article]
