Abstract
The article focuses on an interview with Professor Glenn Diesen, who analyzes how China’s economic development strategy aligns with the American System originally formulated by Alexander Hamilton. Diesen identifies three core pillars of this system: national industrial sovereignty, control over physical connectivity such as transportation corridors, and financial autonomy through national banking and currency use. He explains that China, along with Russia and other Eurasian countries, is adopting these principles to strengthen national sovereignty and foster cooperation among sovereign equals, contrasting this with imperial or hegemonic models based on division and dominance. Diesen also discusses the implications for global peace, arguing that the emerging Eurasian order reflects a Westphalian approach emphasizing mutual security and stability, which challenges the traditional imperial alliance systems that rely on conflict and division.
