Abstract

The article announces the winners of the Early American Literature Book Prize for 2023, which was awarded to Kirsten Silva Gruesz and Kelly Wisecup for their respective books. It also highlights Autumn Hall's selection for the National Humanities Leadership Council and the release of the second issue of the journal. The issue features three essays that examine figures in early American studies, including John Winthrop, John Marrant, and J. Hector St. Jean de Crèvecoeur. The essays provide new insights into the rhetorical, archival, and linguistic aspects of early American cultures. Additionally, the article mentions an Archive essay that corrects the misattribution of two early American novels and a forum discussing milestones in Black studies. [Extracted from the article]
