We Need an Act for the 21st Century.

Abstract

The author explores the challenges that remain in supplying drinking water for all, 50 years after the enactment of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) in the U.S. Cited are the widespread noncompliance of utilities to the SDWA, several ways of addressing the lack of running water and sanitation in disadvantaged communities, and the need of a new law to address water problems in the 21st century.
