Abstract

The article focuses on a significant increase in sales of five classic dystopian novels during the week ending January 25, coinciding with the inauguration of President Donald Trump. Notably, Ray Bradbury's *Fahrenheit 451* saw a 148% sales increase, while George Orwell's *1984* and *Animal Farm* experienced 192% and 136% rises, respectively, despite limited marketing efforts. Margaret Atwood's *The Handmaid's Tale* and Octavia Butler's *Parable of the Sower* also recorded substantial sales growth. Additionally, the inauguration boosted sales of J.D. Vance's *Hillbilly Elegy* and Melania Trump's *Melania*.
