Abstract
The article focuses on a new scholarly examination of Pennsylvania German redware pottery, building on Edwin Atlee Barber's foundational work from 1903. This research is presented in volume three of Americana Insights and is accompanied by an exhibition titled "From Hubener to Medinger: Redware Potters of Southeastern Pennsylvania," at Historic Trappe’s Center for Pennsylvania German Studies. The study reveals significant new findings about various potters, including Georg Hubener, Conrad Mumbauer, and Jacob Medinger, as well as the identification of previously misattributed works and the discovery of a new potter, Frederick Pflüger. The research highlights the cultural and historical significance of these artisans and their contributions to the craft. [Extracted from the article]
