Abstract

Tracking Planetary Motion in the Classroom by Using Video Analysis in Astronomical Model Experiments In this article, we show that with the use of video analysis software, in our case Tracker, the trajectories can be highlighted, and complex phenomena such as formation of planetary orbits or gravity-assisted maneuvers of spacecraft can be illustrated. Gravity-assisted maneuver (flyby maneuver) The gravity-assisted maneuver uses the gravity of an astronomical object to save propellant and reduce expense. Formation of planetary orbits The third experiment simulates a primordial solar system, indicating an answer to why the bodies in a solar system revolve in the same direction.
