Abstract
The article discusses the resurgence of anti-fascism in France and its role in the recent 2024 snap legislative election. The concept of the front républicain, a coalition or alliance aimed at keeping the far right from power, has historically been used to prevent the rise of fascist movements in France. However, in recent years, the front républicain has weakened, leading to the success of Marine Le Pen and her National Rally party. In the 2024 election, there was a surprising revival of anti-fascism, driven by the fear of disorder and social collapse. Young people, in particular, have embraced anti-fascism as a means to build a fairer society. The article highlights the role of young activists in fighting against the far right and the importance of their engagement in shaping the political landscape. However, it remains uncertain whether this youthful anti-fascism will have a lasting impact, as political alliances and the strength of the National Rally continue to evolve.
