Abstract
The text focuses on two poetic sequences, "The Hummingbird" and "The Raven and a Crow," which explore themes of nature and transformation. "The Hummingbird" depicts a vivid, orange-breasted bird attempting to enter through a window, symbolizing fleeting beauty and elusive communication before continuing its migration. "The Raven and a Crow" sequence portrays the interactions of these birds with their environment, culminating in the crow’s fatal encounter with a high-voltage wire, resulting in its fiery demise and metaphorical rebirth as a dark Phoenix. The poems use imagery of birds to reflect on presence, loss, and change.
