Abstract

A literary criticism of the poem "Prayer (I)" by George Herbert is presented, exploring the concept of "understanding" in literary analysis. Topics include the relationship between understanding and aesthetic experience, the role of understanding in engaging with a personal critical voice, and the challenges of defining understanding in literary criticism.
