Abstract
A recent study conducted by researchers at the International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) T.J. Watson Research Center has found that a multimodal machine learning approach can accurately predict the transition to psychosis in youths at clinical high risk. The study utilized neuroimaging data, including structural, resting-state functional imaging, and diffusion-weighted data, to identify neural signatures predictive of psychosis outcomes. The results showed that the multimodal approach outperformed unimodal models in predicting conversion to psychosis. This research highlights the advantage of leveraging complex pathophysiology in understanding and predicting psychosis. [Extracted from the article]
