Abstract
This article examines the concept of *Rasa* in Javanese culture as a central epistemological and spiritual framework that integrates sensory experience, emotion, intuition, and morality. *Rasa* functions both as a psychological tool for self-awareness and moral integrity and as a spiritual goal representing the union of the self with the divine. Drawing on classical texts, Javanese mysticism, and the psychological theories of Ki Ageng Suryomentaram, the article outlines multiple layers of *Rasa*—from physical sensations (*rasa ragawi*), through emotional or heart feelings (*rasa hati*), to the deepest inner or true *Rasa* (*rasa sejati*). It further details a taxonomy of *Rasa* types related to pleasure, hardship, independence, and difference, emphasizing *Rasa*'s role in guiding behavior, social harmony, and spiritual development. The article situates *Rasa* as an indigenous psychological system distinct from Western rationalist paradigms, highlighting its potential contribution to broader cross-cultural psychological research.
