Abstract
The United States is experiencing a resurgence of union power, with major unions such as the Teamsters, United Automobile Workers, and Writers Guild of America taking militant stances in contract negotiations and achieving significant victories. This increase in strike activity can be attributed to several factors, including higher public support for unions, the leverage provided by a tight labor market, and the need for workers to have a voice in industries undergoing transformational change. The return of big strikes and the adoption of more hard-knuckle tactics by union leaders reflect workers' desire to stand up for their interests and demand their fair share. President Biden's support for organized labor further demonstrates a commitment to the labor movement. While the legal and political environment for labor reform remains challenging, the success of these strikes may inspire more workers to join unions and demand better working conditions. Corporate leaders should consider the fair treatment of their workforce to avoid public backlash and maintain positive relationships with employees. [Extracted from the article]
