Abstract
Deutsche Lufthansa AG, Europe's largest carrier, is facing challenges with its flagship airline due to high personnel costs, aircraft delays, and increased competition from the Middle East and Asia. The airline has already revised its full-year outlook, stating that breaking even at its German unit will be increasingly difficult. Lufthansa Airlines had an adjusted operating loss of €427 million in the first half of the year. In response, Lufthansa has initiated a savings plan and is focusing on improving its offerings to premium passengers. The company is also facing production delays from Airbus and Boeing, which has resulted in a shortage of new aircraft. Despite these challenges, Lufthansa's other divisions have seen strong demand. Lufthansa shares have declined this year, but rose by 3.5% following the announcement. [Extracted from the article]
