Abstract
The article focuses on the critical examination of Barron Field, a colonial figure whose legal and literary actions contributed to the doctrine of terra nullius and the dispossession of Aboriginal people in Australia. It argues that Field's poetry, despite being of poor literary quality, played a significant role in reinforcing colonial narratives, serving as a form of cultural erasure alongside his legal advice.
