Abstract
US Senator Bob Menendez has requested a two-month delay in his criminal trial so that his lawyers can challenge the charge that he conspired to act as an agent of Egypt while he was chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Menendez and his wife are accused of accepting bribes in exchange for helping Egypt and three New Jersey businessmen. Menendez's lawyers argue that there are substantial factual and legal defenses that require attention. The trial is currently scheduled for May 6, but Menendez's lawyers are requesting a new date in early July. [Extracted from the article]
