Abstract

The article focuses on the release of the 14th Generation International Geomagnetic Reference Field (IGRF-14), an updated global model of the Earth's main magnetic field issued in November 2024. The IGRF, produced every five years under the International Association of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy (IAGA), provides standardized Gauss coefficients that represent the Earth's magnetic field and its secular variation, enabling accurate navigation and geophysical research. The 14th generation incorporates data from 19 international institutions and multiple satellite missions, reflecting ongoing westward drift and weakening of the magnetic field, including changes in the South Atlantic Anomaly and the movement of the magnetic dip poles. This collaborative effort uses modern software tools to maintain transparency and improve future model updates.
