Abstract

A 214-acre oceanfront ranch known as Rancho Dos Pueblos in Santa Barbara, with historical significance dating back to explorer Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo's contact with the Indigenous Chumash people in 1542, is listed for sale at $65 million by owner Roger Himovitz. Himovitz, a real estate developer, founded the Dos Pueblos Institute to transform the ranch into a public resource, but health issues have led him to sell the property. The ranch features a variety of structures, including a ranch house, Casa Grande, and buildings dating back to the 1920s, and has been used for commercial film shoots and an abalone farm.
