Abstract

The text presents abstracts of scholarly essays exploring diverse intersections of art, history, and identity. One essay examines Nadar's 1860 photographic series on intersex bodies, highlighting its divergence from nineteenth-century medical illustrations and its challenge to prevailing anatomical theories. Another analyzes Zarina's 2001 woodcut print *Dividing Line* as a decolonial engagement with the 1947 partition of the Indian subcontinent, emphasizing fragmented historical narratives. Additional essays discuss Kodak's early twentieth-century advertising strategies, Betty Beaumont's submerged land art *Ocean Landmark* and its ecological implications, and nineteenth-century British Arctic sculptures alongside Inuit cartographic contributions, revealing complex cultural exchanges and absences. The collection also includes reviews of scholarship on topics such as gemstone histories, Renaissance painting, Italian postwar art, Goya's visual culture, and spiritualist séances, reflecting a broad engagement with art historical methodologies and themes.
